Two Years

The day-after-tomorrow, Z and I will celebrate two years of happy married life, two years of togetherness. I’ve been trying to come up with a suitable post, one that adresses everything that I’m feeling right now, but I can’t seem to put the words or the sentences together.

Every sentence I write seems too trivial, too cliched. How can I put into a couple paragraphs what the last two years have been like? The crests and the troughs and everything else.

So I decided not to, just to put it up here that our marriage is 23 months and 28 days old today.

What’s the best way to celebrate your wedding anniversary with a 4 month old in tow?

  1. did you say a 4 month in tow? meaning your expecting a baby in 5 months? i’m sorry i just hopped over to your blog, God knows from where… but anyway, the answer is…
celebrate the way you want to, do everything you can, do everything you want, anywhere you want, anyhow you want and just enjoy enjoy enjoy your anniversary.

trust me, by next year… you won’t be able to celebrate anything except your baby, day in, day out

🙂 happy anniversary… and may Allah bless your marriage through and through…

  2. Mona,

We just had our 7th anniversary.. and since our babies are so close in age, I wanted to tell you what we did. We went out for a dinner! It was great. Bilal sat there with us the entire evening, really interested in the place itself, the children that were running around and the food we were eating. I did bring his food along as well and we finished it off with a walk.

All three of us had a great time. Happy anniversary!
